Kokua Closet is a partnership between University Avenue Baptist Church (UABC) and Harvest Family Life Hawaii (HFLHI). Together we provide basic necessities at no cost for children before, during, and beyond foster care in Hawaii. We also serve other vulnerable children and their families in the Hawaiian islands with the purpose of strengthening and preserving families.

Since 2014 Kokua Closet has served over 2,000+ children and families. We provide new and gently used donated items to those who are in need!

Kokua Closet is located up the gray ramp of the building on the mauka side of the property.

APPOINTMENTS + DONATIONS

Appointments to donate or receive goods are made by calling HFLHI at (808) 694-0000.

We provide a donation of goods receipt for tax purposes to all interested donors.

    -Clothing (for newborns to young adults)

    -Shoes (for newborns to young adults)

    -Car Seats (less than 5 years old—manufacture date is usually on the bottom of the seat)

    -Portable playpens, cribs, high chairs, strollers, & other baby equipment

    -Baby towels

    -Crib sheet, twin sheets, and blankets

    -School supplies

    -Backpacks, baby bags, duffle bags, & handbags

    -Educational books for children & teens

    -Bibles & Bible study materials

    -Personal hygiene products (new items only)

    -Toys

    -Maternity clothing

    -Accessories for hair, belts, scarves, and jewelry

    -Cleaning & laundry suplies

    All donated items must be clean (no stains or odors), complete (no tears or missing pieces), considerate (no inappropriate language or images), & complimentary (fashionable for the target age range of newborn infants to 25 year old young adults).

  • We do not accept:

    -All manufacturer-recalled products

    -Expired products or equipment (must be manufactured within the last 5 years)

    -Broken or dirty items

    -Newspapers, magazines, encyclopedias

    -Furniture, small appliances and household goods may not fit in our space.

  • We are currently open Mondays & Fridays from 9 AM-2 PM
